Giving Tuesday: Support the Julie Matsueda Believe Scholarship!

This Giving Tuesday, JCYC invites you to support the Julie Matsueda Believe Scholarship. Established in 2023, the Julie Matsueda Believe Scholarship makes a long-term commitment to support selected preschool participants as partners in their journey toward adulthood.

After serving as JCYC’s Deputy Director for over 30 years, Julie stepped down at the end of 2022. In recognition of her lifetime commitment to service to the children and youth of JCYC, the staff of the organization are incredibly pleased and proud to create this new scholarship in her name.

This scholarship reflects Julie’s commitment to helping preschool children overcome challenges and pursue their dreams. Each year, Chibi Chan Preschool teachers nominate students for this scholarship, and once selected, recipients receive a multi-year support package, including:

• Opening and seed-funding a 529 college savings account for each recipient.

• Free annual access to JCYC’s Tomodachi Summer Program, valued at $24,000 over 8 years.

• Priority access to all of JCYC’s services and opportunities.

• Annual contributions to their 529 accounts.

This transformative, long-term investment in young learners would not be possible without donors like you. Your year-end contribution will directly support this scholarship, helping create a brighter future for these children.
